Focus: Equine Assisted Psychology in Practice
Overview: Sue and Anna have been practicing Equine Assisted therapies for many years in their respective psychology practices. During this interactive 90 minute webinar they will share their journey of venturing into the paddock with a focus on how they conceptualise and practice Equine Assisted Psychology within the parameters of our peak governing bodies and primary funding agencies.
This webinar is intended as an overview rather than a deep dive and will cover common areas of concern, such as the efficacy, validity and professional risk management in the context of Equine Assisted Psychology.
Objectives: Gain an understanding of how 2 successful psychology practices have conceptualised and operationalised the practice of Equine Assisted therapies.
Consider how EAP supports the field of psychology whilst remaining within the parameters of registration requirements as stipulated by AHPRA.
Explore applications for EAP as an appropriate and valid psychological intervention within our main funding models including Medicare and NDIS.
Who will benefit: Psychologists, Social Workers, Counsellors and other allied health professionals interested in understanding how EAP might ethically and responsibly fit into psychological practice. There are no prerequisites required to attend this webinar.
Program outline: Each presenter will provide a brief overview of their journey into EAP, describe the structure and therapeutic models within their practice and how this fits into the provision of effective and responsible service provision.

There will be ample time for Q&A with interaction throughout. A link will be provided prior to registered participants prior to the event. Given the nature of this webinar and the intention to address practice specific queries of attendees, a recording will not be available. A copy of the Powerpoint will be disseminated to all registrants.
Certificate of attendance will be provided afterwards and these training hours may be applicable for CPD requirements for the AASW, APS, ACA and PACFA.
