EPI Masterclass – Horsewisdom Program with children

This presentation offers guidance for the operationalisation of the Equine Psychotherapy Institute’s Horse Wisdom program (insert trademark) with children and young people.

You will be guided by Nadine Delaney through all 7 themes of the Horse Wisdom program, including equine and play-based experiments for each theme.

Nadine is the founder of Hunter Valley Children’s Therapies and co-founder of Nature Based Therapies Australia, an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, EPI trained EAP and EPI Approved Supervisor. She has been offering the Horse Wisdom program within individual sessions and group program for around 10 years and shares her experience and expertise on how it can be offered in a way that is child-friendly and developmentally sensitively.

  • Child-friendly and developmentally sensitive approaches to the 4 steps to regulation and safety guidelines
  • Creativity and diverse experiments for the Horse Wisdom program (for 5-20 year olds) based on the 7 themes ; the calm state, awareness, boundaries, feelings, thinking, relationships and facing challenges.
  • For each theme, a detailed breakdown of how each session can be offered, equipment/material requirements, lines of enquiry and suggestions for equine engagement.
  • Explore different facilitation approaches – ‘Holding Space Facilitation’ and ‘ Active Facilitation’ approaches with children and adolescents.
